What to bring with you: Acarsaid is not formally serviced so we ask visitors to bring their own sheets, pillow cases, duvet covers and towels (there are pillows and duvets on all the beds). As this is the west coast, wellies and Skin So Soft (in the summer months) are a must! If you are interested in cycling, please bring your own cycling helmets and bike pump. There is an assortment of life jackets in the garage fitting a range of sizes, which you are welcome to use at your own risk.
Cleaning: as the house is not formally serviced, guests are requested to kindly leave the house as clean and tidy as possible for following visitors. Cleaning materials and a hoover are located in the hall store cupboard. If you would like someone to clean Acarsaid for you after you leave, a local resident can be engaged (by you) for an additional cost of £40 - contact details upon request.
Accommodation details: there are 4 bedrooms in total. 1 double bedroom; 1 double bedroom which also contains a set of bunkbeds; 1 large kids room with 2 sets of bunk beds and a daybed that opens out into a double bed; and finally a smaller single bedroom containing 1 set of bunkbeds.
Wifi/TV: there is currently no TV in Acarsaid but a good reliable Wifi connection from which streaming services can be operated.
Recycling: This is situated in Ardfern village adjacent to the village hall. Landfill rubbish can also be dropped off here. As Acarsaid is not continuously occupied we ask guests to ensure that all recycling has been taken away and all rubbish deposited either in the green bin at the foot of the drive or at the village hall.
Finding the house: on the what3words app/what3words.com, you should be able to find Acarsaid at freshest.keeps.travels. Alternatively, via old school methods, the house is accessed off the B8002 just over half a mile west of its T junction with the main A816 road between Lochgilphead and Oban. If you are travelling from Edinburgh, the route is equidistant either via Stirling, Crianlarich, Oban and south, or via Glasgow, Loch Lomond, Loch Fyne, Lochgilphead and north. The driveway to the house is to the right (with Loch Craignish on your left) immediately beyond the "welcome to Ardfern" road sign.
